EQUALITY, OPPORTUNITY

&

FAIRNESS

The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are not just words on a piece of paper or a mere utterance in the halls of our government institutions. These words mean something; rather, they mean EVERYTHING if our country and every person is to have equality, opportunity and fairness in their lives. As Americans, individually and collectively, and through our government representatives and policies, we must protect the rights of all human beings. Todd will ALWAYS be an advocate for women’s rights and equality in our society.

Todd supports these EQUALITY, OPPORTUNITY & FAIRNESS policy initiatives:

  • Women’s Rights – Autonomy regarding the health and reproductive decisions concerning their own bodies. Without autonomy women will not have the freedom and equality in our society they are entitled to as human beings. Women deserve pay equity and employment advancement and never to be subjected to gender or sexual harassment in the workplace - or anyplace for that matter. Every woman has the right to accessible, quality reproductive care that includes preventive care, contraceptive services, prenatal and postpartum care. Women must continue to have the accessibility to and legal protections affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court that allow them to make those most personal, private and sensitive family planning and reproductive decisions.

  • Civil Rights – Guaranteeing the rights of every person to receive equal treatment and prohibiting discrimination under our laws regarding employment, education, housing, lending and voting especially in our minority communities; strengthening anti-discrimination and anti-harassment protections.

  • LGBTQ+ – Supporting the passage of the Equality Act; no person should be discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity; protecting our transgender community; marriage equality for those citizens in same-sex marriages.

  • Protecting the inherent authority and sovereignty of tribal nations.

  • Protecting our most vulnerable citizens – children, the elderly and disabled; strengthening programs to combat poverty, hunger, homelessness and ensuring they have access to healthcare.
